New Corporate Memberships off and running
You may remember that, in December, we amended our Bylaws to provide for “corporate memberships,” a new membership category. A business designates one person as its primary member – who joins Rotary as an individual member -- and may designate two alternate members to attend our meetings as guests. All three persons will participate in all club activities and service projects.
Already, we have three corporate members in the process of joining our club:
NOLS – Jayme Blackburn, primary member
Wyoming Outdoor Council – John Burrows, primary member
Leadership Wyoming – Tobey Schmidt, primary member

Send your make-ups to Sarah Hamlin
When you attend another Rotary club meeting, participate in a service project or activity, or attend a committee meeting, you’re entitled to a make-up, which can substitute for a missed club meeting and boost your attendance percentage. (It also makes the club look good!) With Ken Richardson’s retirement as the Clubrunner guru, you should now send an email with your make-ups to President Sarah Hamlin at

Good news: Only 22 Wild Poliovirus cases in ’22
While there is still work to be done, 2022 was another good year in the fight against polio, with just 22 cases caused by the wild poliovirus – 20 in Pakistan and only 2 in Afghanistan! This compares to 5 total cases in 2021, when the Covid 19 pandemic limited the movement of people everywhere. Polio vaccines caused another 612 cases last year.
Diego Lobatos is off to Nationals
"I'm pretty proud of that kid," says Lander Rotarian Eddie Lobatos of his son Diego. Little wonder: Diego, a junior at Lander Valley High School, is one of 10 Lander skiers selected to compete in the Junior Nationals in Fairbanks, AK on March 11-16. Congratulations, Diego (and Eddie and Reva, too)!

Rotary’s 118th birthday is Thursday, February 23. It was started by Paul Harris and a handful of friends in 1905 in Chicago. Now we’re at 1.4 million members in more than 35,000 clubs around the world. Happy Birthday, Rotary!
