From Solar Panels to Cell Phone Chargers
Reaching out to support the people of Ukraine, the Lander Rotary Club has launched a project to convert new and used solar panels into cell phone chargers. To get it started, members added voltage converters to four smaller solar panels that will charge four cell phones at a time. The panels will be shipped to schools, hospitals, and individuals in Ukraine who don’t have reliable electricity during the war with Russia. Board Meeting Schedule Revised; New Members
With the start of the new Rotary Year under the leadership of President Mandy Fabel, the Board of Directors is looking at possible revisions to its meeting schedule. The Board will not meet on August 9 but will receive reports from all committees on their activities. The September 6 meeting will be held at Mandy’s home, 5-6:30 p.m. The Board will consider holding meetings every other month going forward. Meetings are open to all members.
At its July meeting, the Board approved the addition of Jim Kniola as the Public Relations Chair, replacing Jerry Venters. Jerry was approved as a Director at-large, filling the unexpired term of Rick Rollino.
Rotary Buffalo BBQ Serves 939 Meals on a Chilly July 4
Despite one of Lander’s chilliest July 4ths on record, and despite the holiday falling in the middle of the week, the Rotary Buffalo BBQ was once again a big success, with 939 tickets sold and meals served, down about 15% from previous years. More numbers to follow. Thanks to all volunteers and especially to Past President Sarah Hamlin for her energetic leadership!

Whiskey Tasting on Thursday (June 20)
The club’s whiskey-tasting social group will gather at the home of
Bryan and Jen Neely this Thursday, June 20, at 6:00 p.m. to sample a couple of single-malt scotches...or will it be bourbon?!? Let
