The Club’s HUGE Garage Sale is fast approaching – this Saturday, August 23, 8 a.m-3 p.m. at the home of Ron and RaJean Fossen, 678 Baldwin Creek Road. It’s time to move those seldom-used but useful things out of the garage or attic and donate them for a good cause! Rotarians are needed all day on Saturday, from 6-8 a.m. (set up), 8a.m.-3 p.m. (sale, numerous jobs), and 3-4 p.m. (clean-up).

 

If you have items to donate and can’t be there on Saturday, contact Jerry Venters, 816-665-9272, to arrange for storage or pick up. Household items only. Please price all of your donated items.  Proceeds go for the club’s service projects, led by the Service Committee.   

 

Lander Rotarians Jerry and Cassy Venters were thrilled to learn last week that Larry Lunsford, a member of the Kansas City Plaza Rotary Club, had been nominated to serve as President of Rotary International in 2027-28.  Larry and Jerry attended President-elect Training (PETS) together in 1997 in District 6040 in Missouri, and Cassy and Jerry have served alongside Larry in the Plaza Club and D6040 in various capacities over the last 20 years.  They tell us that Larry will be a fabulous Rotary President!
