Officers, leaders needed for 2024-25 Rotary Year
Strong Rotary clubs like ours require strong leaders to keep clubs vibrant and progressive. Several leadership positions are open for the 2024-25 Rotary year: President-elect, secretary, Interact chair, membership and public relations chairs, and a biggie – July 4 BBQ Chair. Please contact President Mandy Fabel at your earliest opportunity if you are interested in serving in any of these leadership positions. Officers are to be elected in December.
Seeking ideas on dues, meetings – anything!!
An ad hoc committee appointed by President Mandy Fabel a couple of months ago has been studying our club’s dues structure, meetings schedule, etc., to see if we might be able to reduce the cost of membership and perhaps try some different things to attract new members and energize current members.
As a refresher, here’s how our dues are currently being used:
- Rotary International dues – $75 per member, $12 for Rotary magazine, $1 Council on Legislation fee, and about $3.60 liability insurance policy. Total: About $90/year for each member.
- District 5440 dues – $51.50 per member.
- Club Administration – Roughly $43 per member. This covers such things as credit card processing fees, tax preparation, Clubrunner fees, Chamber membership, and some project costs.
- Meals -- $216 remains for meals, or about $4.50 per week for 48 meetings/year. We pay the Oxbow $12/meal but the weekly cost per member is low because fewer than 50% of members attend the weekly meetings.

More cell phone chargers shipped to Ukraine!
The club’s project to convert solar panels into cell phone chargers for the people of Ukraine is charging ahead under Ken Schreuder’s leadership. Twenty chargers have been shipped and more will be on the way soon. Students at Pathfinder and Fort Washakie high schools have attached converters to the panels and have written upbeat, encouraging messages to the Ukrainian recipients. The last batch went to a high school in Krementets, Ukraine, and the students there have initiated a pen pal relationship with students here. Check out the story on our Website!
